Date: January Service: Excellent! Very attentive this day Ambiance: beautiful inside! Very chic and picturesque. Plenty of photo ops. And they have a photographer that walks around asking if you want pictures but it will cost you. So ask for the price first. Food: I ordered the fish and grits. It was tasty. The fish was a tad bit saltier than I usually like my food but the grits helped to offset it. It was fried to perfection which I enjoyed the crunch as well. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and she wasn't as pleased. She thought it was going to be fried but it was more smoked and pretty spicy. She asked for something less spicy and they brought her different pieces which was nice. My non alcoholic lemonade was refreshing. Recommendation: I love the concept here but be mindful that most items are à la carte, so it's good to check the menu before you go so you'll know your budget point.

This place was amazing! Came here for a casual dinner was expecting such an amazing place. They had live music downstairs. We listened to the live music and ordered a cocktail from their wide variety on the menu while we waited for our table. We got seated pretty fast. The menu looks so great! There were so many things to choose from. I ended up getting the catfish and grits. The catfish was crispy and well seasoned. It appeared so nicely with the grits! The portion size was hefty as well. Usually I can eat but I only ate one piece of fish and some grits. The service was good. The music was jumping! All my friends enjoyed their food. We all got a nice premium drink and enjoyed a great time.

Niceeee!! I came her for a girlfriend's birthday. I felt like I stepped into a modern day black 70s restaurant. They restaurant was filled with beautiful black people and black excellence on the wall. Of felt like a place of our own. I had a wonderful time. Ladies ordered a range of items for the table and it didn't disappoint. My food was hot and delicious and didn't spare no mercy with devoring my entree. They was a DJ on location and playing all the hits for us. This spot is definitely a vibe and definitely will be back.

Kitchen + Kocktails is a great dining experience! Came here for my office's holiday dinner and had a wonderful time. For my entree, I got the Chicken Fried Chicken - a tasty chicken cutlet with spicy gravy, onions, peppers, on a bed of mashed potatoes. Large portions and very filling. It was a great balance and paired well with my Blackberry Margarita. All drinks came with such a beautiful and fun presentation! The service was a bit slow with there being large crowds the day we visited. I appreciate the staff's attention to detail and flexibility with all of our table's requests.

Yesterday early afternoon, I visited this location to meet up some girlfriends for my 50th birthday. Upon arriving a little earlier than my party, I decided to head to the bar located downstairs - where I came upon bartender named Jay. I'm strictly a beer girly- but unfortunately this location doesn't serve beer, so Jay convinced me to try some Malbec wine. Which I grew very found of, his dedication to a customers needs was excellent- which made my girlfriends and I move our party that was originally supposed to be on the upper floor, down to the lower floor so Jay could continue to take care of us from the bar. ( He made us feel like we were back in our 20's!!) His drinks were beyond words. Just know my girlfriends and I had a amazing time & will definitely be back when we're are back in the area (as we are out from out of town) I could continue to rave about Jay and his customer service - as he was attentive and always checked on us whenever we stopped at the bar. Food was delicious and the ambiance of this place was stunning.

I can't say enough about the food, atmosphere and the staff. The food was amazing and so satisfying. The collards were to die for. I want the pot liquor the next time. Special thanks and shout out to Chef Cornelius, Sheba our server, DeShawn and Monu, the hosts with the most. I can't wait to come back to eat some more. Kitchen + Kocktails is one of my Favorites from now on!!!

We were hungry in downtown Washington, D.C., and one of the locals recommended Kitchen + Kocktails. We found street parking near the entrance. At first, we weren't sure if we were in the right place; it looked more like the entrance to a nightclub, complete with a large security guard at the door. Inside, the decor was minimal, resembling an industrial party venue. We loved the tables made from large slices of natural wood and covered in epoxy. We sat at the tables for quite a while before realizing we needed to use a QR code for the menu and ordering. In my opinion, the service was subpar. However, the menu had several items we wanted to try. The deviled eggs and shrimp were delicious, the lump crab cake was cooked to perfection, and we loved the shrimp and grits. It seems that the restaurant is frequented by celebrities, as their photos decorate the walls. The dress code was very casual, and while the cost to eat here is on the higher side, I would definitely revisit, especially now that we are in the know.
